Noel Gallagher is “shocked” by how good Oasis are sounding, says Bono
← Back to News

“He sent me a message saying he’s kind of shocked by how great the band is [sounding at rehearsals],” Bono revealed during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. “I think we’re in for a good summer.”

According to Classic Rock and Louder Sound, Noel—known for his perfectionism—expressed actual surprise at the energy and polish coming out of rehearsals.

Bono on Oasis & Their Legacy

Bono lauded Oasis’s raw aesthetic and swagger:

“I love them… what I really love is, the preciousness that had gotten into indie music—they just blew it out,” he said.

He praised their thunderous yet rhythmic sound, rooted in Neil Young–style guitar and Manchester’s dance scene influence.

Bono added: “They had this rhythmic, beautiful quality… Manchester was very influenced by dance music, so they were groovier than anybody, they were rawer than anybody.”

Rehearsal Momentum & Tour Outlook

With the tour kick-off less than a month away in Cardiff (July 4), Bono’s comments signal confidence in the band’s readiness. Tour rehearsals have reportedly involved extended sessions in London studios, where Liam, Noel, and the returning band members—Bonehead, Gem Archer, and Andy Bell—have been refining both sound and staging.

Industry insiders anticipate an opening night packed with Oasis classics—Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, Live Forever—delivered with emotional resonance and sonic authority. Recent crowd reaction at pre-show rehearsal leaks suggests the band is eager to reclaim their arena-dominating presence.
