The British rock legends performed to more than 55,000 fans at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne — the first of three sold-out shows on their Australian leg.
According to witnesses, the flare was lit within the densely packed general admission section and landed among concertgoers, forcing people nearby to retreat.
“Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire,” one attendee told news.com.au. “It was so packed in there… I hope people are okay.”
Liam Gallagher, 53, briefly paused at the end of the song to chastise the culprit, wagging his finger and saying: “That was naughty. Naughty, naughty, naughty.” His brother Noel, 58, appeared visibly uneasy as security teams moved in to extinguish the flare.
That's Naughty': Liam Gallagher Reacts Live to Flare Landing Into Crowd During Oasis Melbourne Show
Later that night, Liam took to X (formerly Twitter) to vent his anger:
“To the massive c*** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me.”

Fans on Reddit and X quickly condemned the act, calling it “reckless” and “scumbag behavior.”
“Lighting a flare is one thing but throwing it into a crowd is quite another,” one user wrote. “Hope no one was hurt.”
Despite the chaos, the band completed their set to roaring applause. Oasis are scheduled to play again in Melbourne on Saturday and Tuesday, before heading to Sydney’s Accor Stadium on 7 and 8 November.
The concerts mark Oasis’ first Australian tour since 2005, part of the band’s triumphant reunion that has seen sold-out shows across Europe and North America.
