On 28 March 1998, Oasis played the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. Nobody in the audience knew it at the time, but the concert would be the final Oasis performance featuring founding members Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs and Paul “Guigsy” McGuigan.

The show brought the long Be Here Now world tour to a close. That campaign had carried Oasis through arenas and stadiums across several continents, but it had also exposed exhaustion within the group and marked the end of the band’s first great period of expansion.

Bonehead and Guigsy would both leave during 1999 before Oasis returned to the stage. Their final concert therefore stands as the closing point of the original five-piece era: Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Bonehead, Guigsy and Alan White.
