Beck Hints Joey Waronker Could Return for Oasis Live ’27 Tour
Joey Waronker looks increasingly likely to return behind the drums for Oasis’ Live ’27 tour, after comments from Beck added to speculation over the band’s 2027 line-up.
Waronker, who played throughout the Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour, also appears on Beck’s new album Ride Lonesome and has a long history of working with the American singer-songwriter.
When Beck was asked by NME whether Waronker would join him for his own live dates across 2026 and 2027, however, he stopped short of confirming the drummer’s involvement.
“I don’t get Joey. He’s a busy man, but he played on the record and we always play together when we have a chance,” Beck said.
NME interpreted the answer as a further indication that Waronker may instead be committed to Oasis’ Live ’27 plans.
It is not an official confirmation from Oasis, and Beck did not explicitly say that Waronker had signed on for the tour. But with Oasis now confirmed to be returning to the road, the comments add another piece to the growing picture surrounding the 2027 live band.
Joey Waronker and Oasis Live ’25
Waronker was one of the major additions to the Oasis touring line-up when Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited in 2025.
He joined Liam and Noel alongside Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell, becoming the latest in a long line of drummers to occupy the Oasis drum stool.
His appointment had initially been one of the more unexpected elements of the reunion.
Waronker had previously worked with an extensive list of artists including Beck, R.E.M., Elliott Smith and Roger Waters, as well as playing in Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Peace and Nigel Godrich’s Ultraísta.
He had also toured with Liam Gallagher and John Squire in 2024, giving him a direct connection to Liam before Oasis returned.
By the end of Live ’25, however, Waronker had become firmly established as part of the reunion-era sound.
During the opening night of the tour in Cardiff, Noel Gallagher introduced him from the stage as Oasis’ “14th drummer” while acknowledging the returning live band.
Why Waronker’s Live ’27 role became a talking point
Questions over Waronker’s future with Oasis resurfaced after fans noticed that his name was absent from the credits of the recent Don’t Look Back In Anger Oasis documentary.
That omission prompted speculation that he might not be involved when the band returned in 2027.
NME has since reported that it understands Waronker’s absence from those credits was an error rather than evidence that he had left the Oasis camp.
Beck’s comments now provide another indication that Waronker may remain unavailable for a full touring commitment elsewhere.
That still falls short of confirmation.
Oasis have announced the Live ’27 dates, but at the time of writing the band have not published a formal complete touring line-up for 2027.
Oasis Live ’27 begins in Glasgow
Live ’27 will begin on 21 May 2027 at Celtic Park in Glasgow, with Oasis playing five nights at the stadium.
That will be followed by an extraordinary 11-date run at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium in June before the tour moves through mainland Europe.
Oasis will then play dates in Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Rome before crossing the Atlantic for shows in Boston and Las Vegas.
The final stretch takes the band to Slane Castle in Ireland in early September before Oasis return to Knebworth for four concerts on 11, 12, 18 and 19 September 2027.
The Knebworth dates will come 31 years after the band's historic 1996 concerts at the Hertfordshire estate.
Registration for the Live ’27 ticket sale has now closed. Fans selected through the registration process are due to receive unique purchase codes and links between 24 and 27 September, with staggered onsales taking place from 25 to 27 September depending on the allocated city and time.
Is Joey Waronker confirmed for Oasis Live ’27?
Not yet.
There is now a growing collection of indications that Oasis intend to retain much of the Live ’25 touring unit, and Waronker's schedule appears compatible with that possibility.
But there is an important difference between expectation and confirmation.
Beck's answer suggests Waronker has other commitments, while NME has linked those commitments to Oasis. Neither amounts to an announcement from the band or Waronker himself.
Until Oasis publish their Live ’27 personnel, Waronker's return should therefore remain in the likely, but not formally confirmed category.
Given how successfully the Live ’25 band settled around Liam and Noel, however, continuity would hardly be a surprise.
For now, Beck has provided the clearest fresh hint that Oasis' “14th drummer” may be getting ready to take his seat behind the kit again.
